Leathercuts, Bob Cossman’s authentic western art form, is an outgrowth of his own unique experience of cowboy life. He gleans his subject matter from his work as a cowboy, feed yard doctor and ranch manager, working from both photographs and memory.

“My leather works cover a vast range of subject matter loosely classified as Western Americana,” Bob says. “It combines the art and beauty of an oil painting with the craftsmanship, skill and technique of a master leather carving.”

The warmth and texture of leather is especially suited to his subject matter.
